Six Foot Track Self-Guided Walk

Covering over a million hectares, the Blue Mountains is renowned for some of the best walks in Australia. The Six Foot Track was originally built as a bridle trail to shorten the journey to Jenolan Caves during the mid and late nineteenth century due to its popularity as a tourist attraction. The new horse track was marked out and constructed to be six feet wide so that two horse-drawn carriages could pass each other. Later, the route was eventually replaced with the rise of motor vehicles.

Today, the Six Foot Track is an enjoyable multi-day journey through a mix of dense native bushland, towering sandstone cliffs, granite creek beds, open farmland, pine forests and the unique limestone geology of Jenolan.

This is a self-guided hiking trip.

Duration: 3 days

Season: Daily departures from 2022, March to December.
